Our Memorandum of Understandings

To date, the Group has 25 Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with a wide range of organisations, including local councils, businesses, and education partners.

These MoUs represent a growing network of formal strategic relationships aimed at supporting collaboration, innovation, and long-term goals.

We believe it’s important to ensure that MoUs continue to serve as strategic enablers, not just formal agreements, and deliver practical benefits to our students, employers, and communities. They should actively contribute to our mission and new Strategic Plan, especially in areas such as employability, curriculum development, innovation, and community engagement.

Employer partnership spotlight

Across our organisation, we work in partnership with a wide range of employers from diverse industries.

Watch the video here to find out about one of our key employer partnerships.

Wire Belt Company Limited is proud to be partnering with East Kent Colleges Group in supporting young people in manufacturing and engineering and signing the MOU solidifies that commitment.

Working with the colleges is something Wire Belt is very passionate about and have built our long-term employment strategy around over many years.

Having a partnership like this in place benefits all concerned us as an employer the colleges but above all the students our next generation of engineers!

I would recommend Apprenticeships to other employers because they are accessible, they’re structured and they’re reasonably low-cost.

As a business, you benefit from all that learning that the individual is doing. It’s been really relatable to work and the skills have been relatable to where we are as a business.

As a business, we try to support trade-related events wherever we can. We want students to understand that the quality of their work is influenced not only by their skill but also by the tools they use.

Over the years, my involvement has included supplying colleges with tools, fixings and materials. We also bring manufacturers into the colleges to speak directly to students.

For example, companies such as Stanley, Stabilo and Ox come in to explain the quality of their tools and how they support professional work.
