Today, students from across East Kent Colleges Group are celebrating as they collect their GCSE and Level 2 results!

As many students now begin preparing for their next steps into a higher-level course, an apprenticeship, or moving into employment, there were cheers all around as they opened their results.

Bielka studied GCSE Maths at our EKC Ashford College and achieved a Grade 8 – a huge achievement as she was the only student to complete the higher-tier paper.

“I am so happy because I expected to get a Grade 7, so I’m so happy with the 8,” she said.

Bielka achieved a Grade 8 in GCSE Maths

“I am so proud of myself because I had to put in a lot of effort myself. I had help from my tutor Lucy too, which was really good.

“My experience was amazing. I started in November, so a bit later, but the environment was amazing.

In September, Bielka will start the Access to HE: Science course at EKC Ashford College as well as her GCSE English. She is then hoping to progress to university.

At our EKC Sheppey College, our adult GCSE Maths learners were celebrating an incredible achievement. This year’s adult evening cohort achieved an amazing 100% pass rate, and were all ecstatic about their achievements.

Hannah, who achieved Grade 5, is now set to start a rewarding career in the Early Years sector.

She said of collecting her results: “I felt over the moon. I’m seriously shocked but I’m overall happy and just really pleased. Now that I’ve passed, I’m going to study Level 3 Childcare alongside my new job in a nursery, to boost my skills and my career.”

Maddie collected her results at EKC Broadstairs College

Maddie has been studying at EKC Broadstairs Junior College, and achieved a Grade 6 in English and Grade 4 in Maths. She is set to continue her studies at EKC Broadstairs College Margate Digital Campus, where she will study Content Creation.

Discussing her favourite things about Junior College, Maddie said: “Meeting friends, the support and your tutors. The support has been great. I’ve made a ton of friends. It’s been good.”

Bailey passed with flying colours by achieving a Distinction – the highest possible grade

Bailey studied Performing Arts at EKC Canterbury College and achieved a Distinction –  the top possible grade.

Speaking about his journey at College, Bailey said that collecting his results doesn’t even feel real.

He said: “This year, I really gave it my all, and on the way here, I was shaking, but it paid off 100%.

“Being at College has been the best year of my life so far, I’ve made a ton of friends, and I’ve gotten used to the environment.

“I’ve enjoyed the course non-stop, and I’ve gotten to do things that I’ve never been able to do before, my confidence has been built up, and it’s just been so beneficial to me.”

Bailey is set to continue his studies at EKC Canterbury College by joining the Level 3 Dance course.

Chloe became emotional as she found out she had passed her GCSE English.

In Folkestone, Chloe, the Students’ Union President, achieved a pass in GCSE English, and is now set to continue with her second year in Early Years and doesn’t need to worry about studying English anymore alongside it.

“I’m really happy about my result today. I was so anxious and couldn’t sleep much last night, as I’ve been doing my GCSE English over and over again so I was scared I was going to fail again but I came in, collected my result, and I just feel so good.” she said.

We would like to congratulate all our students on their outstanding achievements and wish them every success for their future endeavours.
