Ibrahim | EKC Dover College
Ibrahim achieved a Grade 5 in GCSE Maths, having previously completed ESOL and Functional Skills qualifications, and a Level 2 Technical Diploma in Digital Technologies at our EKC Dover and EKC Folkestone Colleges. Ibrahim will be progressing to study Level 3 Computing at our EKC Canterbury College in September.
Lawrence | EKC Sheppey College
Lawrence achieved a Grade 5 in GCSE English. After opening his results, Lawrence said: “I am surprised and shocked that I got a 5 – it is fantastic!
“I want to go into teaching, so I need to get a similar result in Maths this year. I could also do a teaching degree with Maths on the side – it depends what is out there for me. I don’t think I would have got such high results if I had gone anywhere else.”
Millie | EKC Broadstairs College
Millie achieved a Grade 5 in GCSE Chemistry. She will be progressing to study Accounting at our EKC Canterbury College in September.
Dylan | EKC Dover College
Dylan successfully passed his Level 2 Plumbing qualification and achieved a Grade 4 in GCSE Maths. He will be progressing onto an Apprenticeship at the Port of Dover in September.
After a near miss in November, being awarded a Grade 4 in his GCSE resit delighted Dylan who said: “Without my Maths GCSE, I wouldn’t have been able to do an apprenticeship, and I am so happy now I’ve achieved and I can look forward to the future. I’m going to Reading Festival to celebrate.”
Amelia | EKC Sheppey College
Amelia achieved a Grade 4 in GCSE Maths. Speaking about Amelia’s success, her Tutor commented: “Amelia has worked exceptionally hard this year, and made the decision to jump from Level 1 Functional Skills to GCSE Mathematics. This grade is even more amazing as Amelia has worked hard on top of all her other duties i.e. running a hobby club, learning to drive, and being student president.”
Ryan | EKC Ashford College
Ryan successfully passed his Level 2 Electrical qualification and is looking forward to starting Level 3 Electrical in September.
Lia | EKC Broadstairs College
Lia is looking forward to progressing to Level 3 Art and Design after achieving a Merit in her Level 2 Art and Design qualification, alongside Grades 4 in GCSE English and Maths.
Speaking about her experience at College, Lia said: “This year has been great, all of the staff and students are so nice and welcoming. I enjoy college because I just get to do what I love every day!”
Ruby and Sushma | EKC Dover College
Ruby and Sushma are celebrating after both successfully passing their GCSEs. Ruby (pictured left), achieved a Grade 5 in GCSE English and is considering studying an Access to Higher Education course.
Sushma (pictured right), achieved a Grade 5 in GCSE Maths and has been accepted to study an undergraduate degree in Nursing at Staffordshire University.
