Today marks an exciting moment for students across East Kent Colleges Group (EKC Group) as they collect their Level 3 results.
With many securing places at their chosen university, and others preparing to start full-time work or apprenticeships, there was a buzz across our six colleges today as students found out their results.

Jensen Perry studied the T Level Design in Architecture, Surveying, Estimating and Project Management at EKC Canterbury College and achieved a Distinction.
Speaking about his journey at College, Jensen said the support he received from his tutors played a key role in his success.
“I struggled quite a bit in GCSEs, so came to College and got them before doing a Construction course. I was then approached by a tutor to do a T Level course. It was all about project management, and I excelled at it and really enjoyed it.
“The course led me to do work experience with Jenner Group, which is a construction company, and from that point, they offered me a Site Trainee position. They’ve been fantastic and have really helped me along the way.”
Thanks to the fantastic impression Jensen has made, Jenner is proud to be sponsoring his university degree. This means Jensen will be studying at Oxford Brookes University next year and working for Jenner during the holidays.

Meanwhile, T Level Engineering, Manufacturing, Processing and Control student from EKC Dover College, Leon Hornsey, has already secured a position as an Engineering Apprentice with UTS.
Reflecting on his time at College, Leon said: “I didn’t know anything about Engineering before I came to College, but I’ve got to work on lots of different machines and gain the experience I need for my apprenticeship.
“I originally got into Engineering because my Dad is an Engineer, and I wanted to follow in his footsteps.”

Also celebrating was Anestasia Lordachi, who achieved three A grades in her A Levels. She is now going to the University of York to study Law.
“I did an internship for one year in a law firm in London. I absolutely loved it, because we worked in family cases, housing cases, and I decided that that’s what I want to do long term,” she said.
“I had incredibly helpful teachers. Honestly, they were very helpful with all resources.”
When asked was advice she would give, Anestasia said: “Do not be afraid to ask questions. I asked a thousand questions during my lessons, and they were always there to help you and support you, which is amazing.”

Another A Level student celebrating was Sophie Gilmartin, who rated her time at College a ’10 out of 10′.
After studying Sociology, Psychology and Criminology, she will now be going to Canterbury Christ Church University to study Social Science.
“I really enjoyed the flexibility of A Levels at College,” she said.
“I did four days a week and a flexible timetable. You need to be self-motivated, but it prepares you better for university, I think, compared to a traditional setting.
“My teachers were just the best people, and I couldn’t have done it without them. I’d give my college experience a 10 out of 10. I think it’s so inclusive and supportive. If you need anything extra, they’re there for you all the time, and I would highly recommend it.”

Rhys Manga, who studied a Business T Level at EKC Ashford College, is set to study Digital Marketing at the University of Portsmouth.
“I chose to come to College as it gave me a sense of direction. The course helped me figure out what I wanted to do, as I was unsure beforehand.
“I went on a trip to the University of Kent, which really opened my mind to the future. My teacher, Matthew Brookes, also really helped me make decisions about my future.”

We would like to congratulate all our students on their outstanding achievements and wish them every success for their future endeavours.
