Leading creative software company, Adobe, has praised the facilities at East Kent Colleges Group’s brand-new digital campus.

Earlier this month, the education team from Adobe visited the EKC Broadstairs College Margate Digital Campus – a new state-of-the-art facility for students studying creative courses.

During their visit, the team spoke to students about all things creative and took a tour of the innovative campus.

Dom Traynor, Adobe’s Education Evangelist said: “I’ve never seen an education site as nice as this. With the spec it’s got, it’s blown me away.

“To be honest, I was kind of shocked as it’s as nice as the Adobe offices.

“By visiting students here today, we get to hear insights from people who are actually using our tools, and from people who are looking to get into industry.”

As part of the visit, the team from Adobe hosted a roundtable with students

As part of the visit, the Adobe team sat down with students for a roundtable discussion on the software they could be using once they enter the creative industry after their studies. This was an exciting opportunity for students to provide an insight into the tools they use at College.

Adobe’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa Education Lead, Jennifer King, added: “The space is unreal.”

“We’re really interested in understanding what students need, how we can help them, and how we can help them prepare for the future digitally.

“It’s just been a really great day.”

The Adobe team’s visit marks the beginning of a series of industry partner engagements at the state‑of‑the‑art campus

Ross Buttery, who is the Head of Campus, said: “For me, it’s extremely important to have as many industry connections as possible coming in to explain to our students how the industry works.

“We as tutors, talk to our learners every single day, and everything we do is related to industry expectations and standards.

“However, actually having people come in to talk to our students is really important for our students to really understand how they can get into the industry, and make those connections with industry which will hopefully help them when they come to look at jobs.

“What we’re looking for now is for more industry partners to come on board, help us develop our curriculum, but also just come and visit to give guest talks to our students, produce workshops and overall give our students a much more enriched education so that they are ready to go out there in the future and look for jobs.”
