Jason Howard

Governor

Jason lives in his home town of Sittingbourne. After attending Canterbury Christ Church University from 2006-2009, he achieved a BA (Hons) in Primary Education.

He joined Queenborough School & Nursery on the Isle of Sheppey as a Newly Qualified Teacher in 2009 and became the Deputy Headteacher in November 2015. One of Jason’s roles is leading the Queenborough Teaching School Alliance (QTSA), which provides Initial Teacher Training (ITT), Continued Professional Development (CPD) and School to School Support (StSS) to educational organisations across Kent.

Jason is passionate about working collaboratively to improve the education offer across Swale and wider Kent. In October 2016, Queenborough was recognised by Ofsted as the first Outstanding school on the Isle of Sheppey and Jason is proud that the school is now a member of the EKC Schools Trust.

He has enjoyed working alongside colleagues from East Kent Colleges Group and has been struck by the similarities between Primary and Further Education. Jason gained the National Professional Qualification of Headship (NPQH) in 2016 and, most recently, has undertaken a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership.
