Learners Commended for their Achievements at Student Awards 2019

On Thursday 27th June 2019, we celebrated the successes and determination of our learners at Canterbury College with the annual Student Awards 2019. The event was sponsored by The Marlowe Theatre, Apple Tree Canterbury, Megger and Canterbury Cathedral.

The evening began with a drinks reception and a live acoustic set performed by a Music student, Fred Packman. Canapés were prepared and served by the Catering students for guests to enjoy throughout the reception.

The ceremony was hosted by Performing Arts student, Jack Holden, who led the evening with nominations provided by staff for the winning students. Principal Lucy McLeod presented the certificates and prizes with Photography student Alex O'Callaghan documenting the evening with official presentation photos.

Learners were recognised for their achievements in certain subject areas, but also for their contribution to the community, leadership skills, careers progression and their excellence.

Guest speaker Luke Frake, Canterbury College alumnus and successful Conversion Specialist at Spotify took to the stage with inspirational messages for our learners about finding their passions and taking calculated risks to get ahead in their future careers.

Canterbury College would like to thank everybody who came and joined us on the evening to support our students. Also, a thank-you to the companies that worked with the College to ensure the evening was special for our students, including Balloonatic who provided us with our starry LED backdrop and blue and white balloon arches.

A huge congratulations to all of the winners from the evening.
