Pathways

Pathways are made up of courses focused on future careers or further education opportunities

Come to Dover Technical College, and get a head start in the creative and rewarding world of hairdressing.

Here you will be taught by staff with industry knowledge and experience, as well as gain work experience in our very own salon. Our qualifications will give you the confidence and knowledge employers are looking for. We will equip you with the skills you need to progress into the world of work.

You’ll learn how to conduct a thorough consultation prior to starting a service and understand how the choice of shampoos and conditioners can affect the hair and scalp. In addition, we offer opportunities for students to learn from professional designers and interact with local entrepreneurs, as well as participate in community activities such as the Dover Roman Festival.

A Day In The Life Of A Hairdressing Student

A Day In The Life Of A Hairdressing Student

I arrive at College at 8:40 so I can pick up some breakfast. It’s free and I’m meeting my friends in the Refectory. Our first lesson starts at 9 and I have to be on time because ‘being late is unprofessional’ as my lecturer keeps saying. It’s been two months now since I’ve started my Hairdressing course and I’ve sort of surprised myself how quickly I’ve got used to the way we do things at College, which is so different to school!
