What to Expect From Your Interview

Once you have completed your application via the Enterprise system you will be asked to choose a date for your interview. Your interview is a great opportunity for you to meet your tutors, and for you to ask questions about the course and College life in general.

Choosing your date

Enterprise allows you to choose your interview date by showing you the next available slots. Once you have selected a time and date that you can attend, make sure to make a note so that you don’t forget.

Be sure to check the notes regarding the interview as it may specify that there is something you need to prepare for your interview.

If you cannot make any of the dates shown, please contact our Admissions team.

The Interview

Your interview would normally take place at College and include a tour.

During your interview, a tutor from your chosen pathway will run through your application and will ask you why you are wanting to join the course.

The tutor will run through the key points in the interview, such as;

  • What you will learn on the course
  • How you will be assessed
  • What they expect from you in terms of study and behaviour
  • The hours of study and your timetable
  • English and Maths – what happens if you don’t achieve your predicted grades
  • Where the course can lead
  • Student life including community weeks and trips
  • Any fees or costs associated with the course.

In some cases, you will be asked to carry out an activity in advance, during or after your interview - this varies depending on the pathway you have applied for.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have someone with me during the interview?

You may choose to have a parent or guardian present, i.e. in the same room as you whilst on speaker phone, but only you can answer the questions.

When will I find out if I have been accepted?

We aim to tell you as quickly as possible. Dependent on which pathway you have applied for, you may receive an offer at the interview. However, sometimes it can take a little longer. Your offer will be available on your Enterprise account.

When do I have to accept my offer?

We advise accepting your offer as soon as possible. This will reserve you a space on your chosen course until enrolment. You are still free to explore other options until you enrol on your course in August.

What if I have more than one offer?

You can accept multiple offers from multiple providers. You do not have to decide straight away, but we advise that you accept any offers so that you can then decide which course is right for you.

When will I find out about enrolment?

You will be invited to enrol in late August. Invitations will be sent by post directly to your home address.

I was made a conditional offer – what if I do not get the grades?

College will be open on GCSE and A Level results day to offer support and guidance to you. If you do not receive the desired grades, it does not mean that you cannot study with us. We will be able to advise you and look at different options, or even look at retaking certain GCSEs alongside your course.
