GCSE Biology

Whether you have a strong interest in pursuing a career in science or are considering further study, this evening course will cover scientific theories and practices allowing you to gain your Biology GCSE.

What will I learn?

This course is ideal for those who require a GCSE qualification in science in order to progress in their chosen careers, those with an interest in science or for those wishing to study the basics of science in order to progress to a Level 3 Applied Science programme. With support from tutors who are specialists in a wide variety of scientific areas and access to science labs, you will cover a range of topics including:

  • Cell biology
  • Organisation
  • Infection and response
  • Bioenergetics
  • Homeostasis and response
  • Inheritance, variation and evolution
  • Ecology

How will I be assessed?

Paper 1: Written Paper: 1 hour 45 minutes
Paper 2: Written paper: 1 hour 45 minutes

What may it lead to?

With appropriate qualifications, you can apply for our Level 3 Applied Science programme.
