Do you want a career in the beauty industry? We can give you the skills to put clients at ease.

A career in beauty and media make-up could take you in many different directions, from working on cruise ships to creating special effect make-up looks on film sets.

You will be taught by a range of knowledgeable staff who specialise in the subject you will be learning, and lecturers who have industry experience, having worked for leading skincare and nail brands and within TV and Theatre.

Students will learn advanced make-up techniques for film and TV work, stage, catwalk and other media such as photographic shoots.

Job holders in this unit group plan, organise, direct and co-ordinate the activities and resources of hairdressing salons, beauty treatment and similar establishments.

You will apply for for your chosen pathway and at the interview you can discuss what entry criteria you need for each level.

Once you have your GCSEs we can ensure you are enrolled on the best level for you to progess and succeed at College.

This programme of study is designed to drive your progression toward advanced employment or apprenticeship opportunities.

Achievement at level 3 will have a positive impact upon your future earning potential and career options but it also unlocks further progression to Higher Education and Higher and Degree Apprenticeships.  These take you from advanced technician or skilled supervisory roles at Level 3 to management and chartered professional status as you continue through your studies to higher levels.

To study on this programme you will need the equivalent of 4 GCSEs grade 3, ideally including English and maths.

This course provides time for you to gain vocational expertise in your chosen specialism and achieve your English and maths to grade 4 or an equivalent. Achievement at this level will have a positive impact upon your future opportunities and open up new choices for you, including skilled employment, apprenticeship, or progression to Level 3.

To study on this programme you will need the equivalent of 4 GCSEs grade 2 to 1 including Functional Skills English and maths Level 1 or above.

This programme of study is designed to accelerate progression toward advanced employment, higher study or apprenticeship opportunities if you are clear about your next steps and you have the explicit entry criteria to ensure your success.

Achievement at level 3 will have a positive impact upon your future earning potential and career options but it also unlocks progression to Higher Education and Higher and Degree Apprenticeships.  These take you from advanced technician or skilled supervisory roles at Level 3 to management and chartered professional status as you continue your studies to higher levels.

For a Level 3, including all T Level and A Level programmes of study, we require students to have an average point on entry score of 5.0 from their best 6 subjects, ideally including English and Mathematics.

In addition to the general entry criteria for T Levels and A Levels many individual subjects will also require students to have specific GCSE grades in specific subjects, and some will have a specified level of skill requirement as well as specific GCSE grade requirements. Please see the individual information regarding the requirements for each subject course.
