Updates: Colleges & Business Units | Commercial Outlets and Nurseries
Advice for: Students, Parents and Carers | College Applicants | Apprentices
Having welcomed our full time students a few weeks ago, we have now been welcoming the first set of our evening learners into college, and helping them start the next step in their educational journey. We run a lot of evening classes which are designed for those 19+, and range from Part-time courses that run throughout the year, to short courses which last a few weeks. Last week saw the start of classes from various pathways across the college, including the Accounting Advanced Diploma Level 3 and the Supporting Teaching and Learning Certificate Level 2.
Accounting students learnt about AAT from Lecturer Amin, which is the Association of Accounting Technicians, the world's leading body for Accountancy courses. This class was based in one of our computer suites on the second floor, allowing our adult learners access to software and equipment that will be beneficial on their journey.
Our Supporting Teaching students learnt about the basics of the industry, and throughout the year they will be covering a variety of aspects. These include caring for children and supporting their needs, such as child development, safeguarding and wellbeing, and creating activity plans.
Our E-Hub Coordinator Katie was also around the college to help our new adult learners with IT skills, such as setting up computers and how their ID's work around the E-Hub to borrow laptops and access e-books and other supplies that will help them throughout their courses.
Over the next few weeks we are launching even more adult evening courses, including a Hairdressing Level 2 as an example.
