Four of our Catering students and our Chef Lecturer; Jackie Apps, volunteered over the Bank Holiday to cater for the Headcorn School May Fair. Having never cooked BBQ food before in a setting such as this, it was a great experience for our students to do so. We are now very pleased to announce that the total amount raised was £9521! As the first Headcorn May Fair since 2019, this was a staggering achievement, and we are very proud of the hard work that our team put in to help raise this much money. With over 400 burgers and 300 sausages cooked in total, the fair managed to sell out of food, something that has never been done before at this event. Our students were praised by Headcorn School for remaining professional throughout and were able to keep up with the many hungry customers.
Each of the students also received a personalised thank you letter and card from the Headcorn School PTFA which was much deserved. It was very well recieved by the students as they knew that all their hard work had paid off and that they made such an impression on Headcorn that everyone was remembered individually. This is another one of our community partnerships that we are very keen to keep up - and we hope to team up again in 2023 for the next May Fair!
