The exhibition was opened by local artist Keith Brymer-Jones, a British potter and ceramic designer, with a private viewing of the special show of work in the gallery at Canterbury College.
Brymer-Jones said: “It really is a pleasure and an honour to be asked to such events, and when possible I will always try to support the Art & Design department at the College.”
Brymer-Jones’ opening speech mirrored his well-held views on the importance of art and creativity in education.
The evening included a special viewing that was well attended by students and their families, the staff at the College and local stakeholders, who were able to browse and buy the pieces, whilst enjoying refreshments.
The special show of work by students and staff celebrated the John Millest Trust, which for over twenty years has raised funds and resources to support students and the work of the Art & Design department at the College. This role has been recently taken over by ‘The Friends of CSVA’.
The exhibition is now open to the public until February.
