Anita Goymer was appointed as Deputy Principal of Sheppey College in February 2018.
During Anita’s career she has worked for the Local Authority within the HR department and at the local Port dealing with international trade before joining Co Steel as part of the management team tasked with setting up a training department to serve both inhouse training needs and to provide specialist training to other large employers across Kent. Anita developed the YTS and apprenticeship provision for Business and ICT across three sites in Swale and Medway. She graduated from Christchurch University with a BA Hons Ed covering professional studies and educational management.
Anita joined Canterbury College in 1995 and worked initially as a lecturer in Office Studies, Business and ICT as well as a Coordinator for Core Skills. She moved to a lecturing post at Sheppey College in 2001 progressing through roles including Curriculum Cluster leader, Programme Leader and Department Head for Business, ICT, Uniformed Public Service and Construction.
Within her current role as Deputy Principal at Sheppey College she oversees the Business, ICT, Construction, English and Maths and Additional Learning Support provision throughout the College. Anita strives, with her teams, to deliver the best student experience for learners to build their confidence and resilience towards achieving. Close links with local industry and embedding community and social projects has developed the curriculum over the past two years to allow learners to showcase their knowledge and skills to potential employers.
Anita is married with one son and enjoys walking, travel, gardening and equine sport.
