Our new architecture course is an exciting opportunity for learners to begin a creative journey towards exciting careers in architecture, interior and urban design.

Our Level 3 Architecture, Interior and Urban Design will introduce you to the range of job roles and careers in the combined and associated areas of architecture, spatial design, town design and planning, and interior design. You will develop a creative, knowledgeable and experimental approach to skills development through active research which informs practical projects, work experience and social action.

You will have access to relevant contemporary technology such as 3D printing and design software.

Whether your aspirations are to be a Graphic Designer, a Fine Artist, or even a Teacher, our Art and Design Pathway will help you take the first steps towards the future you want. 

You will explore a range of creative careers through practical projects in areas such as Fashion, Illustration, Interior Design, Architecture, Graphic Design, Art, Advertising, Web Design, Marketing and Advertising.

 

Our Level 2 in Art and Design is perfect for school leavers who want to gain an introduction to the world of Art and allows students to progress onto the Level 3.

In our Level 3 Art and Design course, you will begin to hone your specialist skills and you can progress onto university study or into the workplace.

Let your creativity take you on an exciting new career! Do you have what it takes to work within the Beauty industry?

A career in beauty could take you in many different directions, from being a mobile therapist to working on cruise ships or in a salon. 

You’ll develop creative flair in our newly refurbished salons and learn from industry professionals who can give you a real insight into what it takes to succeed in the world of beauty.  

We currently provide Level 1, 2 and 3 in Beauty Therapy, meaning that students of all skill levels are catered for, with many of our students having the ability to progress before qualifying as Beauticians!

Business is a versatile and fascinating qualification, and our courses allow our students to network with all kinds of local businesses in the area!

Our students have the ability to learn all kinds of elements about business, whether it's accounting, economics, finance, marketing, sales, recruitment and more!

Students also participate in work experience with local enterprises in the area, gaining valuable, real life experience to compliment their studies.

 

We currently offer students the opportunity to begin their BTEC journey at either Level 2 or Level 3, which gives both flexibility and the opportunity to progress at their own pace.

With our qualification, students are then able to progress onto university, an apprenticeship, straight into the world of work, or even set up their own business and become their own boss!

Professional Cookery offers a huge range of careers that could take you all over the world! Our qualifications will give you the head start you need.

You will study in our fantastic facilities, including the new onsite Anne's Restaurant, and benefit from tuition and guidance from some of Kent’s leading experts in this sector. 

We have Catering courses from Level 1 to Level 3, so students of all skill levels can progress, knowing that their abilities will match the requirements of the workplace.

Computing isn't all ones and zeros, but if you're here, we guess you already know that! At Folkestone College, we embrace the creative side of Computing, while developing core skills that are applicable in a variety of careers.

Taught by industry professionals, our students are taught the ins and outs of the latest computing technology, and then asked to engage their creative side. Students often have a passion for app development or gaming design and continue onto university to further hone the skills they develop with us.

We offer Creative Computing at Level 2 and 3, so students with a range of skills may apply and then progress with us.

Our Construction is the largest build environment department across EKC Group's family of College, and we're pretty proud of that. Taught by industry professionals, you will leave College with contacts, friends and most importantly, the skills, to go into work, or onto further education.

Across BrickCarpentryJoineryPainting and DecoratingPlastering, and our new Onsite Construction T Level, we are sure there is something for everyone.

If you're a creative problem solver, or you simply appreciate seeing the result your hard work and skills, then a career in Construction is for you.

Each of our Construction Pathways are tailor-made to enhance the skills and career prospects of the student.

Every Pathway also ranges from Level 1 to Level 3, so students of all abilities can start their journey with us and progress through the levels.

More advanced learners should look to our T Level, where 80% of your time is spent in class, while 20% of it will take place in a real work environment. Students will gain the equivalent of 3 A Levels and will be able to progress onto University, or into highly-skilled work.

If you've got the passion and the commitment, a career in Early Years could be one of the most rewarding you could embark on.

Students of all skill levels can take the next steps towards a career in education and childcare! We also offer our new Education and Childcare T Level, allowing you to spend 80% of your time in the classroom learning the theory, and 20% of your time in a work placement gaining valuable, real-life experience.

You will cover a variety of aspects of caring for children and supporting their needs, such as child development, safeguarding and wellbeing, and creating activity plans.

You can look forward to the opportunity to put your skills into use with a one day a week work placement.

Are you looking to study English as a Second Language? Our ESOL – SKILLS FOR LIFE CERTIFICATE is for 16-18 year old learners and will allow you to develop skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening, and grammar!

Even the most famous Hairdressers started as Salon Juniors, and the College offers exactly the right pathways to help you succeed in this rewarding, creative and fast-moving career.

Develop your skills and learn more specialised hair services and start your dream career as a Senior Stylist or self-employed Hairdresser.

You’ll learn advanced perming, cutting and colouring techniques and learn how to create more complicated hair styles for special occasions. As well as practical skills, you will gain experience in agreeing customer needs through consultations and learn the basics of salon management.

You will have a real insight into the industry with guest speakers from local businesses. You can also look forward to the opportunity to undertake work experience placements in our commercial salon or in salons in the local area.

All training and assessment is carried out by industry trained and qualified stylists. These tutors will offer you the benefit of years of their experience and contacts within the industry.

Are you enthusiastic about sport and aspire to have a future career in Sports Coaching, Development or Teaching?

Our Sport and Exercise Pathway provides students with a broad understanding of key areas in the sports sector which can be further developed by progressing onto higher education, apprenticeships or employment in the future.

Hands-on practical learning is combined with academic based learning and will give you valuable experience across the industry. The Sport Pathway will also help you develop confidence, teamworking skills and professional standards that are required when working within the Sport and Leisure sector.

Students will have have access to a variety of practical sport and fitness environments including the on-site fitness testing studio, artificial sports pitch, outdoor fitness equipment and hall, as well as use of local sports and fitness facilities.

T Levels are a brand new qualification designed to give you a head start towards the future you want.

They follow GCSEs and are equivalent to 3 A Levels.

The two-year T Level qualification brings classroom and work placement together on a course designed with employers and businesses.

You’ll spend 80% of your time in the classroom and 20% on a 45-day placement to give you the skills and knowledge employers are looking for.

Your T Level will help you to step straight into your chosen career, an apprenticeship or a degree.
