Our main college site on Elwick Road is in the centre of Ashford, allowing you to experience the best of the town on a daily basis. We are a 5 minute walk away from the main high street, with attractions there including the County Square shopping centre, and the new Elwick Place development, with restaurants and a six-screen cinema right down the road. We are also just a 15 minute walk away from the Ashford Designer Outlet, allowing you to get brands up to 60% off. Fancy going out of town? We are also located slightly opposite from Ashford International train station, which can take you to London in just 40 minutes! Being located where we are allows our students to explore easily the best of what Ashford has to offer.
From September 2022, we are offering three of the new T Level courses. Equivalent to 3 A Levels, a T Level course has more focus on work experience, and will allow you to gain practical knowledge that you couldn't get with a traditional A Level. Feedback from students who have done these courses is amazing, and the impact that doing a T Level has had on their future is huge. We are currently only offering T Levels in our Business, Computing and Early Years pathways, but more are to come from 2023 onwards! This new way to learn will be a really good experience for our students, and will be aimed at their future no matter what that may be. Learn more about T Levels here.
Education can sometimes be a challenge, which is why we are focused to making sure you have the best experience possible when not learning on your pathway. Our student union provides you with many trips and experiences throughout the year, and recent examples include Thorpe Park and visiting Charlton Athletic football stadium. If in-between lessons, take a break in our student centre, where you can interact with other students over Table Tennis, Table Football and Xbox gaming.
At Ashford College, everyone is made to feel welcome and we hold lots of events in the college that really give you a chance to get involved and try new things. Our Freshers Fair in September will help you learn more, but we have such a strong relationship with local partners who help with events. A recent example was our Jubilee celebrations, with involved a big Jubilee BBQ for all students and staff, Karaoke, Art contests, unveiling of local community projects, and the unveiling of our tree on Ashford's Tree Trail!
Every Wednesday at the College is enrichment day, allowing you to boost your skills in a variety of areas that you may have no experience of before coming to college. Anyone can get involved with anything - whatever pathway you do doesn't exclude you from any opportunities here. Enrichment sessions that we currently do include Art Workshops, DJing sessions, Instrument lessons,. Football training, E-Sports and Gaming hours, First Aid Courses and many more! If you have any ideas about enrichment or know of a session that you want to do, talk to our student enrichment team and they will be happy to help!
No matter who you are or what course you do, we actively encourage you to build skills in interests that are right for you, and allow you to express yourself and achieve your full potential. If you need help or support in anything then our college support team will help you anytime. If sixth form isn't right for you or you want to be part of something more, then come and give our college a go!
