This Level 2 course gives you the skills required to work towards a career in the health and social care sector, regardless of prior qualifications. You will be studying in a small group and attend College one evening per week (Monday), with some additional work to be completed independently in your own time.
The programme of study includes topics that are of current interest, such as health promotions and person-centred approaches to supporting clients. You will also develop essential academic and IT skills, including essay and report writing, referencing and academic research skills.
Tutors will provide individual support in person and via email to ensure that you can progress to programmes of further study, such as the Access to Health Professions course, or enhance your career prospects.
There will also be an opportunity to take exams in maths and English, which are essential qualifications in this sector. Overall, this course will enable you to develop your academic, personal and professional skills and help you to achieve your long- and short-term career goals.
