KMFM's GCSE Surgery a Hit with Students

On 21 and 22 August, radio station KMFM broadcast a special show dedicated to students receiving those all-important GCSEs. Two of our current students had the opportunity to head over to the station to share their stories and advice for future College students.

Level 3 Performing Arts student Layomi Coker was chosen to speak to the audience about her decision to study at College over Sixth Form and was able to offer invaluable advice and guidance to those who were conflicted over this decision.

Level 3 Media Production student Ash Noble was also able to get behind the scenes and see the inner workings of a professional radio show. After picking up his GCSE results on 22 August he was able to give advice to those who were concerned about their next steps and what to do if they had not done as well as they had hoped.

Ash said: “As a media student this gave me vital experience in the industry and also allowed me to get a better understanding of how things work in the radio show environment.”
