January
Doesn’t it just feel like ages ago, well I suppose it was. In January within their English class, our ESOL students worked on their communication skills. They learned all about Sam the alligator, one of the longest-lived alligators in captivity. They put their communication skills to the test together creating their own paper alligators to create this lovely display.
February
In February our business students had Adam from Keason Porsche on campus. Adam gave the students an inspiring talk about his career and how he set up his own business. Thank you again Adam.
March
In March our onsite nursery took a visit to meet our plastering students for community week. Students helped mix up plaster and together they made decorations which the nursery then took back with them and painted. It was lovely to see different parts of our college working together.
April:
In April our hair students had an amazing seminar about bridal hair. Look at the amazing outcome!
May:
In May our Level 3 business students enjoyed a visit to holiday extras. They got to participate in a workshop, had a tour of the facilities, and even got to shadow some of the team hard at work giving the students a taste of the industry.
June:
We couldn’t mention June without giving a very special mention to our student awards! It was amazing to celebrate our student success! We want to give another massive congratulation to our winners and a big thank you to our sponsors.
July:
In July our construction T Level students got to go on a site visit which was kindly hosted by Wates Group to see how they operate on site. It was a really informative day for the students, leaving them inspired for their future.
August:
In August we had GCSE results day, a massive well done for everyone for all their hard work towards getting their Maths and English GCSE.
September
Start of Term 1! In September we got to welcome our new students and returners onto campus, and we had our lovely freshers fair ready to welcome them. Students got to enjoy fun games, free food, speaking to local and national companies, and of course, collecting lots of freebies.
October:
That brings us up to now, October, although we still have so many great things to come this term a special mention to our internal careers week. This week we had ‘Christ Church University' and ‘The University Of Kent’ come in to give talks to help support students preparing to apply to university, there were also many other universities who came to our HE fair to speak to students and help them find the right university for them. We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who came down and made this possible for our students.
What’s next? Today is the start of half term and we hope everyone gets a chance to relax we can’t wait to see our students back for term two.
