On the 18th June, our talented learners from Hair and Beauty took part in the KFE4Skills Summer Showcase 2021.
The Kent Further Education is a network of three different college groups, which Folkestone College falls under as part of East Kent College Group.
Each year, students have the opportunity to show off their industry skills that they have learned and developed in a live inter-college competition.
However, due to the Covid restrictions, this year the event was virtual and did not take the format of a competition, instead being a showcase!
As part of the event, our students from Hair and Beauty submitted videos of the various treatments they had learned throughout this year that they will be going on to use in their future careers.
We started off with Level 1 student Lillie Mardle showing off her skills at a blow dry, and then Terri Farrugia showing her skills at a cut and style. All the hairdressing students then showed off a slideshow of a series of different looks that they had made, with some very creative and clever styles!
From our Beauty students, we had Shannon Dowling from Level 2 demonstrating how to do a Brow and Lash treatment.
Finally, from our Level 3 students, Nyomi Copeland-Laws showed us how she carried out a Black Mud Back Treatment.
By participating, this has allowed our students to enhance their CVs, improve their personal professional development, as well as gaining confidence!
We are very lucky to have such talented students keen to show off their skills, and highly certain that they will be extremely successful in their future careers as hairdressers and beauty therapists!
