Our Level 3 Business & Enterprise students have been exploring different industries and work opportunities for after they have completed their studies.
Earlier this week they had the chance to visit Holiday Extras, based nearby in Port Lympne!
The students were greeted with a warm welcome by Nicola Boston, the Employer Brand Specialist, and were invited to have a tour around the facilities, giving them an insight on the culture at Holiday Extras.
They then took part in a workshop where they were able to think about their values and what they looked for in a workplace.
After this, the students split up to shadow a member of a different team depending on their interests! One group visited the brand team, another visited the finance team, and another group visited the customer service team, where they were able to watch live chats with customers in action!
Afterwards the students regrouped to discuss what they had found out with each other, and even enjoy some tasty snacks!
Speaking about the visit, our Programme Director of Business & Enterprise Emma Ring said:
"Our local employers are the greatest advocates of what we do here at Folkestone College and through networking with us, and showcasing the wealth of local opportunities available, the next generation will be inspired to build on the entrepreneurial and creative environment we already have here in the town."
A huge thank you goes out to Holiday Extras for hosting our students!
