Award-winning Photographer and Lecturer, Zak Waters, has embarked on a new photography project capturing portraits of local residents in lockdown during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The portraits, taken through windows and doors during Zak’s daily permitted exercise, document Folkestone residents at home during this key moment in recent human history. The photographs are taken with the consent of the residents who contact Zak in advance to arrange a date and time to participate.
Talking about his inspiration behind the Project, Zak commented: “I have been discussing with my students how they have to adapt their coursework with their current surroundings and situation, including how they need to showcase their portfolios online so that we can review them. I decided to work on the project to show them how I have adapted to the current situation, and I have built a website to help them understand the process of creating one.”
