Built Environment work with the Wates Group

The Built Environment department at Folkestone College would like to extend their sincere thanks to Wates Smartspace, part of the Wates Group, for the donation of a large number of cavity lintels that were surplus to requirements.

Graham Rumsey, Project Manager, has been very supportive of the Folkestone Built Environment department since their site’s inception, with the promise of employer visits, surplus materials and work placements.

Deputy Head Nik Weakley collected the lintels and the Level 1 Bricklayers made short work of storing the materials, which will be used by all of the Brick students as part of their practical work.

Our Built Environment Environmental Pledge includes the reduction of resource consumption by re-using and repurposing resources and we are extremely fortunate to be working with excellent employers such as Wates who share the same sustainability values.
