GCSE Maths


Our GCSE Maths qualification will cover everything you need to improve your grade and gain the essential mathmatical skills needed for the world of work. 

What does this course involve?

The course includes study in the following content areas:

  • Number – the essential foundation upon which all Maths is based. Topics include: basic calculation methods, fractions, decimals and percentages.
  • Algebra – the language of Mathematical communication. The study of algebra includes: notation, vocabulary, algebraic manipulation, sequences and graphs.
  • Ratio, Proportion and Rates of change – the manipulation of numbers in context and interpreting and understanding the relationship between different numbers.
  • Geometry and Measure – understanding the properties and construction of different shapes, the correct calculation methods for finding perimeter, area and volume, and the key mathematical concepts of pi and trigonometry.
  • Probability – understanding and calculating the likelihood of different events and the different methods used to represent probabilities.
  • Statistics – structuring and interpreting data in tabulated and graphical formats. 


Assessment will take place via three 90-minute exam papers: one non-calculator and two where a calculator is permitted. 


The course runs from September to June, however there is the option to sit the exam in November.
