You will gain an understanding of the industry with guest speakers from local businesses. You can also look forward to the opportunity to undertake work experience placements in salons in the local area.

Thanks to these experiences, several of our past students are now working at top brands such as Clarins, No7 and local spas.

Learn from industry professionals

You will develop your creative flair and practical skills in our newly refurbished salon and learn from industry professionals who can give you a real insight into what it takes to succeed in the world of hair and beauty.

You will work closely with Million Dollar Facials, a diverse skincare brand who focus on cosmetical-grade products.

Once you have completed your course, you will be offered the opportunity to become one of their platinum technicians.

The Salon

You will train in our industry-standard salon, where you can work with professional equipment on real-life clients.

This will give you the experiences you need to make it in the industry, and put you above the competition.

Our salon is open for appointments throughout the academic year.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Therapy is a gentle and effective treatment to improve the appearance of many skin irregularities and to remove hair.

We offer this at EKC Folkestone College with a selection of IPL treatments. These take place in our specialist IPL room, located beside our Salon. These treatments vary by price and can be discussed with our team before booking.

Meet our Beauty Programme Director

Sara-Lee Jones

Having over 20 years experience in the Beauty industry, Sara-Lee will teach you all you need to know about the standards, skills and expertise required to make Beauty your career.

She has been working in Further Education for seven years, teaching the next generation of Beauty professionals.

Her own business, ‘The Face Clinic’ has also been running since 2010.
