Nick Holbrook-Sutcliffe


Nick started in FE as a lecturer in Art and Design, taking time out to work in India to develop an art school in Rajasthan. On his return to the UK, Nick went on to gain experience in Advertising and then across a range of colleges, as a Course Leader, Advance Practitioner, Programme Manager, Head of Curriculum and Associate Principal for Partnerships.  Nick worked in the private sector for a number of years, developing commercial strategies and building diverse partnerships for the automotive, retail and fashion sectors and, prior to Folkestone, he was Principal at Dover Technical College.  He has also held the post of Chair of Governors at a SEN school and sits on a number of community groups that aim to increase opportunity and life-choices for local people.

Nick is passionate about the student experience and the transformational potential of education and training, at all stages of peoples’ lives. Nick works to ensure that the College’s purpose is directly aligned to regional opportunities and Folkestone College celebrates particularly strong links with local employers and stakeholders, all of whom share Nick’s commitment that everyone has an opportunity to meet their highest potential; both academically and personally.

Nick is married with two young children and enjoys playing guitar, painting, listening to music, watching cricket and he keeps a small flock of chickens.
