Electrical Installations Diploma Level 2 student Samuel Bennett has achieved a fantastic 70% score at the World Skills SkillELECTRIC Competition held at the Brompton Barracks last week, which was well above the average mark.
Samuel was tasked with installing an electrical unit within a 4 hour time limit, following a technical brief provided by World Skills to the correct measurements and specifications. His work was then judged on its electrical function, wiring and terminations, testing and inspecting, installation quality, measurements and effectiveness of health and safety.
Bryn Homewood, Electrical Skills Practitioner at Canterbury College tells us Samuel was the only full time student competing and did incredibly well among the professional electricians. “Sam is so hard working, and put himself forward for this competition which shows how dedicated he is to his field. We are all very proud of his work.”
Well done to Sam for his outstanding achievement in World Skills, his level of ambition and dedication to working hard in his subject.
