New Sixth Form Centre Launches for 2022

The brand-new EKC Sixth Form centre has been unveiled on our campus, ready for our new students who will be starting in September 2022.

The centre is situated in a dedicated building area, comprised over two floors, where the majority of our 25 A Level courses will be taught by our dedicated team of expert tutors.

Students will learn in a 'university-like' community, where they are encouraged to develop their confidence and knowledge.

The unique environment offers a great opportunity for learners to transition between school-based learning, and the independent learning style of a University or a Higher Level Apprenticeship.

Students have access to a common room, a welcoming space where they can socialise and relax between lessons, equipped with a hot desking area for work and a ‘chill out’ zone.

Upstairs, there are various teaching classrooms and a private study area, a dedicated room for learners to quietly study and complete assignments. Students have access to laptops which they can use for work.

There is also a central area on the second floor where students can meet and work on any group projects.

During independent time away from lessons, learners have the option to work elsewhere on campus, such as the Learning Resource Centre, or in Streetside, our on-site bistro.

Sixth Form students will have access to further facilities on our main campus to enrich their learning experience.

Students studying the Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Criminology A Levels will have access to our industry standard Science Laboratories in our main building, for teaching in their areas using the specialist equipment.

Our on-site Lanfranc Theatre will be used by Drama & Theatre students for practical study and performances.

Students studying the Art (Fine Art) A Level will be able to use our state-of-the-art workshops and ceramics studios.

Our Sports Centre, equipped with a sports hall, gym and dance studio, will be utilised by Sport & Physical Education students as part of their physical learning.

EKC Sixth Form students will also have access to all our support services, including our Information and Guidance Team, Wellbeing Centre and Students' Union.
