Kirsty has been part of the EKC Group since 2011, when originally joining Thanet College’s Partnerships team in the role of Jobs Broker. In this role Kirsty demonstrated a tenacious and proactive approach in supporting unemployed individuals with overcoming multi-faceted barriers to learning and work. Passionate about motivating and encouraging others to achieve their full potential, Kirsty then progressed to become an Employability Lecturer and demonstrated an enthusiasm for developing the programmes in this area. After progressing from her Lecturer role into the position of Employability Programme Director, she has been instrumental in developing colleagues in also becoming ‘outstanding’ practitioners.
Kirsty enjoys the variety in her role and has built effective partnerships with key stakeholders including local and international employers; always using Business Development as a driving force for positive change to the IntoWork area. Most recently Kirsty has received recognition for her outstanding contribution to employers and she has progressed from Deputy Head to a Head of Department role.
Prior to working for the EKC Group Kirsty was a Centre Manager of a Learndirect centre, supporting individuals in the local community with achieving qualifications in English, maths and ICT via e-learning platforms. This opportunity sparked an interest in quality assurance and careers guidance.
Enthusiastic towards further continuing professional development, Kirsty is currently working towards a Level 6 Diploma in Careers Guidance and Development. She has a Joint Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Television which demonstrates her personal interests in British TV Drama and literature. Other interests include kickboxing, photography and cats (big and small)!
