Updates: Colleges & Business Units | Commercial Outlets and Nurseries
Advice for: Students, Parents and Carers | College Applicants | Apprentices
College is a very different place to school. It has a completely different atmosphere and your level of independence is much higher. It’s likely to be a lot bigger than the school you’ve been attending, which is why it’s important to look around and think about how you will feel settling into the building.
If you’re travelling to us from further afield, you may not have had the opportunity to visit Canterbury. As we are based right on the doorstep of the city, it would be a great opportunity to explore the local area, if you haven’t already.
Have you seen our facilities? When you visit the departments that you’re interested in you will be able to see the facilities first-hand. Staff from each department will be running interactive sessions that you can take part in. You can really watch the College come to life on an Open Day, which will help you envisage yourself studying with us.
At our Open Days, you will get to hear the Principal of Canterbury College, Victoria Copp-Crawley, speak about her vision for the College and why she believes it’s the place for you to make the transition from school to further education or a working role.
You will also be able to direct questions to those that are currently studying at the College, who have first-hand experience. Click here top find out the questions that are helpful to ask at an Open Day.
Everyone’s situation is different and maybe you have concerns about how you will afford to travel to the College. If you are an adult learner, maybe you are worried about the cost of studying and how you will afford it.
Fortunately, you will have the opportunity to meet with the Information & Guidance team, who will be able to give you advice and help you to explore your options. Canterbury College is committed to supporting our students, so this is your chance to ask for face-to-face advice and reassurance.
You’ll want to get the most out of the Open Day and gather as much information as you can. To save time on the day, why not pre-register now for fast-track entry on the day? This will give you much more time to explore.
