Which Trades course is right for you?

If you are hands-on and enjoy practical challenges, a job in the building environment industry could be for you. Students have access to industry-standard equipment and facilities within our workshops and are taught by staff that have worked within the industry, applying their experience and knowledge to student learning.

Are you interested in Plumbing and Gas Installation?

We offer Gas and Plumbing training courses for all levels, including apprenticeships. If you are interested in developing the skills to be a Gas Engineer or Plumber or build on your profession with additional training, we have courses that will suit you.

You'll learn in our industry-standard workshop with all the tools you need.

There are also training courses available, held in our purpose-built well-equipped training centre.

Level 2 Plumbing student, Joe said: "my course is really enjoyable and it’s great to learn a valuable trade. We have all the resources that we need to work efficiently and I have really supportive tutors who offer extra help and support if we need it.”

Are you a great problem solver and like the idea of being an Electrician? 

Our Electrical courses may be for you. We offer Electrical training courses for all levels including those experienced and those wishing to begin a new career.

Our training courses are affordable and are held in our purpose-built well-equipped training centre.

Jude, who studies Level 2 Electrical Installations, said: “I really enjoy how practical and hands-on the course is. My tutors are really supportive and always help out when I need it. I am hoping to progress on to the next level and pursue a career in electrical installations.”

Does Bricklaying sound more for you?

Our Brick courses are taught in our purpose built, industry-standard workshop and all the equipment you need to give you a great head-start in the workplace.

We have close links with employers and industry leaders throughout East Kent, and our students gain work experience with local employers. 

Level 1 Brick student, Connor said: "“I have learnt so many skills on my course that I can take with me when I work on a site in the future. Our tutor gives us great feedback on our work and lets us know what we can do to improve our skills. We have all of the equipment and resources we need to succeed.”

Are you practical and interested in Carpentry?

We offer courses in Carpentry, including Apprenticeships, where you can train to become a carpenter or joiner.

Students work in our purpose-built workshop and our strong ties with local employers allows them to undertake work experience and gain knowledge from the industry.

Owen Chapman, Level 2 Carpentry student, said: "I like that the Carpentry course has a lot of variation, and I can transfer the skills that I have learnt at College when I am working on-site in my industry placement."

"I have secured future employment at the company I worked for, which has really increased my confidence and knowledge in the sector."

Are you interested in the Welding and Fabrication industry?

Our Welding courses allow our students to develop the knowledge and skills that are valued by employers in the fabrication and welding industry.

Students learn from our expert staff in our modern and fully-equipped workshop.

Level 2 Welding Apprentice, Connor, said: “We are always learning new skills from our tutors and I like that we can all learn from each other within the class. We are given access to plenty of materials and gasses."

"The facilities are great and we each get our own bay to practice our skills in.”
