Lucy Edwards, Year 2 Level 3 Photography student, recently had the opportunity to work with London based employer, Halkin Offices, after being approached by Business Development Manager, Theo Kingshott.
Lucy was asked to take a series of photographs of their senior members of staff to be used for promotional activities on their website and social media platforms.
Upon completing the task, Theo had nothing but praise for Lucy. He said: “I can’t stress enough how professional Lucy was. She arrived promptly and managed to take a huge number of photographs within a very tight time-frame.”
Theo shared how “she was particularly good at interacting with the staff, talking them through her choices in background and lighting and making sure that they were happy with each shot.”
Lucy travelled to London for the day to take the photographs and said: “I enjoyed working for a professional business and it was a great experience to work with new people.”
“I had to stick to a certain timeframe, and even though it was a little challenging at times due to the harsh light as the pictures were being taken outside on a rooftop terrace, I overcame that by using different techniques to take the photographs.”
After hearing the positive feedback from the employer, Lucy said: “It was great to receive amazing feedback on my photographs. As a photographer, hearing feedback like that made all the time and effort I had put into taking the shots and editing them more rewarding.”
Denise Knights-Toomer, Industry Liaison Officer, said: “We are very proud of Lucy and the work she has done. She spent many hours editing and perfecting the photographs, to send back to the client for approval.”
Such a fantastic opportunity for one of our students to showcase their skills and we are so glad you enjoyed the experience, Lucy!
