Exploring the Performing Arts Facilities

Our Performing Arts department boasts a variety of industry-standard facilities and equipment to help our students to achieve their individual goals and ambitions. Teaching takes place in theatres, dance studios and workshops that are equipped to enable students to create professional-standard public performances both on and off stage.

The LanFranc Theatre

We have an on-site theatre, where our students rehearse and showcase their skills in a variety of shows to a public audience.

Students from all Performing Arts courses are able to use the theatre facilities to support their learning and experience working in a real-life theatre.

When enrolling in our courses, our Performing Arts students become a member of our Lanfranc Theatre Company and have the opportunity to perform for real clients from the industry.

Theatre Production Room

Theatre Production students explore all elements of backstage, including costume design and making, lighting and theatrical make-up.

Dance Studio

Dance students have most of their practical work in the studio and the space is also available for other Performing Arts students to practice movement work.

Tech Box

Theatre Production students learn how to use industry-standard equipment and control the lighting and sound during shows in the LanFranc Theatre.

The Performing Arts department has links with many employers and theatre companies, including The Marlowe Theatre, The Marlowe KIT, The Gulbenkian Theatre and Dreamland Margate.
