Exploring the Media Department

Our wide range of courses and facilities here at Canterbury College help you to reach your full potential. Our Media department is home to a variety of different facilities to empower our students in their learning.

Our Media courses allow students to explore their creative side and learn about new technologies in the media industry. We offer a variety of different courses in this department, including Creative Media Production, Creative Writing and Journalism, Digital Design and Games Development.

Our practical Study Programmes are accredited by the University of the Arts, London and we encourage our students to work towards a career in media or gaining a place at university after their studies at College.

TV Studio

Students have access to the TV studio, which has industry standard equipment including film lights, cameras and microphones, allowing them to experience what goes into working both in front and behind the camera.

Radio Studio

Our on-site radio studio is also equipped to industry-standard, and allows students to experience going live on-air and the work that goes into producing a radio show.

Editing Suites

Students learn in our iMac suite and have full access to Adobe Creative Cloud programmes (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects etc). They also use AVID, which is a film and TV editing software used in the industry.

Media students also use 3D Animation software and 3D printer and scanners to develop their learning.
