CSVA Christmas Art Pop Up

Students from our Canterbury School of Visual Arts hosted a Pop-Up Art Market in collaboration with Canterbury based lifestyle store, Rock Paper Scissors.

Our Level 3 Art & Design students displayed their work at the CSVA Pop up Christmas market, based at Rock Paper Scissors, Canterbury.

The funds raised from the market will help to support community projects at College, allowing learners to gain invaluable industry experience.

A percentage of the sales were donated to Bone Cancer Research Trust.

Ben Kidger, Head of CSVA said: "For the students this is a wider understanding of how the art world works. From concept to client and audience requirements, the products and the production to the experience of being involved in curation, invigilation , teamwork and communication."

Canterbury School of Visual Arts at Canterbury College work on many live projects where students get direct teaching from employers, as well as getting the opportunity to receive constructive feedback for them to be able to set targets to improve for the next project they undertake.

"The private views of both the college exhibition and the one in Rock, Paper, Scissors went very well. Great celebrations of our students work and massive thank you to the countless very generous professional artists that donated work to both events. Students, staff, parents and invited guests all gathered for a common goal, to celebrate creativity, professional practice of our students and to raise money for these most worthy of causes."
