Apply to be a SU Student Officer

Want to be a part of something big? Our Students' Union are currently recruiting for their Officer Roles! Make a positive difference in the College community and raise the student voice by applying to one of the six roles, focused on important areas including welfare, sustainability, equality, events and promotion.

Welfare Officer

The Welfare Officer works with the SU President and Vice President on campaigns that support student mental and physical health.

They run the 'Brew Monday' stall and support with the International Women’s/Men's Day events. They work closely with the Wellbeing Centre to guide students to services available to them at College.

They also work alongside the College Sport Champion and Sports Centre to encourage a healthy lifestyle, and run events and competitions to get students moving.

Sustainability Officer

The Sustainability Officer works with the SU President to find ways for the SU to be green, and works on environmental campaigns.

They attend meetings with the climate board of EKC Group to discuss group wide efforts to protect the environment.

They also run events such as World Wildlife Day, and dedicate time every week to lead the Environmental Committee.

Events Officer

The Events Officer is in charge of promoting and running SU events, organising several events throughout the year, such as the Festive Fair and Springtime Fair.

They learn to write risk assessments and event briefs and play a key role in the end of year celebrations, where they make decisions and plan activities.

Equalities Officer

The Equalities Officer works hard to ensure all students have equal opportunities at College. They oversee and promote student groups such as the LGBTQ+ Committee.

They work on campaigns for Cultural Celebration Day, working alongside our ESOL students to make sure all cultures are represented. They work on events and ideas for Black History Month, International Women's Day, Disability Pride Month, and LGBT History Month.

Lastly, they work with our SEN students to make our events more accessible.

Promotions Officer

The Promotions Officer's role is to raise awareness and help the visibility of the Students' Union. They visit classes and talk about what the SU does at College.

They also write copy and take photos for the Students’ Union social media and work to rally followers. They promote and sell SU trips and events in the Street, selling tickets and building interest for SU activities.

Additionally, they have a presence at Open Days, where they promote the SU to prospective students.
