Practical Welding Introductory Award Level 1

This City & Guilds course is an introduction to the different types of welding.

What will I learn?

You will learn the principles of MAG welding. This course is very hands-on, with lots of practical welding.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed by creating five test pieces and taking part in an oral exam.

What may it lead to?

This can lead to the Practical Welding Level 2 course.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs grade E–G (2 or 1) including Functional Skills English and Maths Entry 3 or GCSE grade 1 or 2.

Additional information & other costs

*This course may be free to those who are 19+ and are unemployed, on a low income and looking to return to work.
