NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Coding Practices

The purpose of the NCFE Level 3 in Coding Practices is to provide learners with sector awareness. It will provide the learner with a chance to develop knowledge and skills relating to coding practices with the view to seeking employment or proceeding to further study in this area.

What will I lean?

The course covers 5 key units, which include:

Coding requirements and planning
Understand coding design
Implementation of coding
Software testing
Understand deployment, maintenance and configuration management

How will I be assessed?

Internally assessed and externally quality assured portfolio of evidence.

What may it lead to?

Learners who achieve this qualification may wish to broaden their knowledge by taking a similar Level 3 qualification, or pursue employment or university-level education.

What qualifications do I need?

Learners will need to have a relevant Level 2 qualification or experience; however, all applicants will be interviewed and assessed on an individual basis.

Part-time courses are only for students that are 19 years of age and over at the start of their study programme.

Fees and costs

£941 per person*.

*This course may be free to those who are 19+ and unemployed, receiving universal credit or job seeker’s allowance. This course may also be free if you do not already hold a Level 3 qualification and over the age of 24.

Bursary

Those eligible for the above funding may also receive bursary to help with other costs, such as travel, and can provide a free laptop for use, which students can keep upon completion of the course.
