If you wish to start a new career in construction and have little or no experience, the Level 2 Bricklaying qualification has been developed for delivery in a training environment; this means that you do not need to be employed to study this qualification. It has been designed to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding so you can work as a bricklayer in the construction industry or progress to further training.
This qualification comprises the following 5 mandatory units;
Students will be assessed by practical and written assessment.
This can lead to progression on to the Level 3 Bricklaying course, an apprenticeship or employment.
Learners will need to have Grade D/3’s in English and maths; however, all applicants will be interviewed and assessed on an individual basis.
Part-time courses are only for students that are 19 years of age and over at the start of their study programme.
£850 per person*.
*This course may be free to those who are 19+ and unemployed, receiving universal credit or job seeker’s allowance. Other funding streams available to those earning low income. To discuss eligibility for this, please contact us by emailing salesadultcollege@eastkent.ac.uk or calling 01843 605045.
Those eligible for the above funding may also receive bursary to help with other associated course costs, such as boots, and kit. The college may also be able to help with travel costs and provide a free laptop for use, which students can keep upon completion of the course.
