RHS Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Plant Growth and Development

What will I learn?

You will be introduced to plant science and will cover many principles including:

  • Structure and function
  • Plant health
  • Plant nutrition
  • Plant specifications
  • Plant adaptations
  • Planting style
  • Horticulture and society
  • Biodiversity.

How will I be assessed?

This qualification will be assessed using summative assessments. Units 1 and 2 will both be assessed with their own written examinations.

What will it lead to?

This qualification has been designed to provide learners with the breadth of plant knowledge deemed essential by the horticultural sector. It supports progression to employment and career development within horticulture. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to progress onto a Level 3 qualification and then on to higher education.

Entry Requirements

Level 2 or equivalent in English Language, but all applications are considered.

Additional Information and Other Costs

It is advisable that students either possess their own computer and Wi-Fi or are happy to use those provided by the College in our Learning Resource Centre. This is required in order to access some of the course materials during self-directed study.
