Level 2 Women's Hairdressing (Weekend Course)

What will I learn?

This course will prepare you to enter the specific sector of hairdressing as a junior hairdresser/stylist. 

 This is a vocational qualification and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a hairdresser/stylist including the mandatory units which include, working in the hair industry, health and safety, client consultation, shampoo and conditioning hair, cutting women's hair and the art of dressing hair. 

Learners will complete 7 units: 

  • The art of dressing hair 
  • Client consultation for hair services 
  • Follow health and safety practice in the salon 
  • Working in the hair industry 
  • Cut women's hair 
  • Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp 
  • Colour and lighten hair 

 

How will I be assessed?

Students are assessed by completing a personal portfolio, observed tasks and question papers. 

 

What may it lead to?

Whilst this qualification's primary purpose is to prepare you for employment, you may choose to further develop your skill base by undertaking specialist qualifications at Level 3, including: 

  • VTCT Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing 
  • VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Women's Hairdressing 
  • VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing Studies 

 

What qualifications do I need?

Learners do not need any prior qualifications or experience for this course, and all applicants will be interviewed and assessed on an individual basis. 

Part-time courses are only for students that are 19 years of age and over at the start of their study programme.
