English as a Second Language

We offer three full-time programmes under English as a Second Language for students aged 16-18 years old.

Assessments are held prior to the start of the programme and students enrol on to the level according to their ability. ESOL programmes include up to six hours per week of English tuition.

Our entry requirements allow any student to apply enrol and progress in their studies with us to achieve their full potential.

You will apply for for your chosen pathway and at the interview you can discuss what entry criteria you need for each level.

Once you have your GCSEs we can ensure you are enrolled on the best level for you to progess and succeed at College.

Here is a list of entry criteria for this pathway:

ESOL Speaking and Listening Entry Level 3, ESOL Reading Entry Level 2, ESOL Writing Entry Level 2 and Functional Skills Maths Entry Level 2.

ESOL Speaking and Listening Level 1, ESOL Reading Entry Level 3, ESOL Writing Entry Level 3 and Functional Skills Maths Entry Level 3.

ESOL Speaking and Listening Level 1, ESOL Reading Level 1, ESOL Writing Level 1, Functional Skills Maths Level 1 or English Functional Skills Level 1.

GCSE English grade 4 and GCSE Maths grade 4 or Functional Skills English Level 2, Functional Skills Maths Level 2 and a full level 2 vocational qualification.

GCSE English grade 3 and GCSE Maths grade 3 or Functional Skills English Level 1, Functional Skills Maths Level 1 and a full level 2 vocational qualification.
