This course will develop your practical engineering skills. It is mainly based around practical work, with students carrying projects in the college's welding and fabrication workshops. There is also an element of written work which needs to be completed for each unit you study.
You will learn about welding and fabrication.
You will complete a personal portfolio, undertake online tests and carry out observed tasks. You will also study functional skills or GCSE English or Maths if you have not achieved a C grade.
You can progress onto Level 3 programmes in welding and fabrication (dependent on your GCSEs or Functional Skills grades and subject to interview).
4 Ds or 3s or above including English at 3 and maths at 4 or a relevant full Level 1.
