Plumbing & Electrical Certificate Level 1

This entry level Plumbing and Electrical course is free to those on a low income or who are unemployed. It is designed to help you to increase your career and employment prospects.

What will I learn?

This course is designed to enable you to develop skills and knowledge in Plumbing and Electrical Installation.

On the course you will learn about:

  • Health and safety in construction, and Electrical Safe Isolation;
  • Basic plumbing and electrical tool skills;
  • Plumbing maintenance and repairs;
  • Manufacturing of copper pipework and Installation of simple appliances;
  • Electrical maintenance; sockets, fuses, lighting;
  • Manufacturing of simple electrical cables systems;
  • The theory behind domestic plumbing and electrical systems.

People successfully completing these courses will have increased confidence and motivation to help you progress.

How will I be assessed?

Students will be observed doing practical tests, creating a portfolio of work.

What may it lead to?

This course enables progression onto either the Plumbing or Electrical Diploma Level 2.
