Early Years

Pathways

Pathways are made up of courses focused on future careers or further education opportunities

Build a foundation for your future in childhood education. Learn in our training nursery and benefit from our industry links.

With access to the College training nursery, students are supported during their studies, enabling them to recognise their potential before entering the childcare industry or progressing on to university.

Students benefit from structured placements, which is an integral part of the early years qualification. Extensive links with local employers provides access to placement opportunities and real-life training. A DBS check will be required for you to complete these courses.

Careers

Our courses can help you progress to gain skilled employment in many different roles, such as:

  • Nursery Assistant
  • Teacher
  • Au Pair/Nanny
  • Child Psychologist
  • Children's Holiday Rep.

Many of our courses will give you the necessary qualification to progress on to university or other higher education.

We are currently running a T Level in Education & Childcare with the option to specialise in Assisting Teaching and Early Years Education and Childcare.

T Levels are a brand new qualification designed to give you a head start toward the future you want.

They follow GCSEs and are equivalent to 3 A Levels.

The 2-year T Level qualification brings classroom and work placements together on a course designed with employers and businesses.

You’ll spend 80% of your time in the classroom and 20% on a 45-day placement to give you the skills and knowledge employers are looking for.

Your T Level will help you to step straight into your chosen career, an apprenticeship or a degree.

"I like that you get to study around like-minded individuals and tutors that treat you like an adult. You get the support and guidance that you need and the facilities to help you train to be what you want to be."

"I learn everything from making a bottle and changing a nappy, to how to safeguard a child. I go to placement at a primary school; it’s amazing the bond you build with the children and how much they develop in such little time."
