Are you self-taught or stuck in a rut with your computer skills? Would you like to elevate your word processing, spreadsheet and presentation talents?

This four-week course is designed for those who would like to throw off the frustrations of document creation and learn techniques for ease of use and time-saving tips.

What will I learn?

  • Word processing: This unit develops learners' ability to create professional word-processed documents, gaining tips for speed and ease of use. Techniques for entering text, editing, and formatting work will be covered as well as using drawing tools, tables and pictures for a professional finish. Learners will also understand how to work more effectively using tools such as spellchecker and mail merge.

  • Spreadsheets (Excel): This unit helps learners to develop a working knowledge of spreadsheets, from entering data and formatting worksheets to creating charts and producing high-quality documents. As well as learning to use formulas and functions, you will see how Excel can also be a powerful database with sorting and filtering tools.

  • Presentations (PowerPoint): The presentation software unit introduces learners to producing high-quality presentations using a variety of tools including charts, graphs, drawn objects, and posters. It will also cover the techniques of creating a presentation for delivery to an audience, which can be led by yourself or played on its own.
