Level 2 Carpentry (Weekend Course)

This course will provide you with the necessary skills to achieve a recognised qualification for working as a site carpenter in the construction industry.

 

What will I learn?

This course will include modules such as:

  • Health and safety in construction
  • Basic tools, skills and maintenance
  • Setting out joists and trusses
  • Stud partitioning
  • Fixing skirting and architrave
  • Door hanging
  • Fixing locks
  • Manufacturing of basic joinery items

 

How will I be assessed?

Students are assessed by completing a portfolio, undertaking timed online tests and carrying out observed practical tasks.

 

What may it lead to?

This can lead to progression on to the Level 3 Diploma in Site Carpentry, an apprenticeship or employment.

 

What qualifications do I need?

Learners do not need any prior qualifications or experience for this course, and all applicants will be interviewed and assessed on an individual basis.

Part-time courses are only for students that are 19 years of age and over at the start of their study programme.

EKC Group are utilising Adult Education Budget (AEB) funding, through the Government, to make learning more accessible for our communities, therefore:
