Carpentry Certificate Level 1

This entry level Carpentry course is free to those on a low income or who are unemployed. It is designed to help you to increase your career and employment prospects.

What will I learn?

This course is designed to enable you to develop skills and knowledge within Carpentry. On the course you will learn about:

  • Health and safety in construction
  • Basic woodworking tool skills
  • Setting out
  • Manufacturing of basic joinery items
  • The theory behind carpentry and joinery

People successfully completing these courses will have increased confidence and motivation to help you progress.

How will I be assessed?

Students will be observed doing practical tests, creating a portfolio of work.
