Develop your managerial skills and the knowledge and confidence to succeed as a first line manager. A more extensive qualification, our Level 3 Diploma in Principles of Management and Leadership (CMI), gives you a broader knowledge of effective management skills while focusing on specific management areas such as building stakeholder relationships or managing budgets and resources.
This course is designed for First Line Managers who are new to their roles or for aspiring leaders who wish to gain a solid understanding of the principles and practicalities of first-line management. It is also possible to study the Level 3 Award or certificate in Principles of Management and Leadership which are smaller qualifications than the L3 Diploma.
You will learn about different management and leadership approaches and how these can positively impact on own role, lead to improved performance, and support teams, colleagues and customers.
Developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders is an essential management skill. Stakeholders can have a positive or negative impact on the success of an organisation. You will learn how to identify and understand stakeholder’s needs, know the purpose and benefits of building relationships with different stakeholder groups, and the methods of communicating with them to achieve results.
Budgets and resources are crucial to the functioning of any organisation. Organisations need to plan and manage money and resources to remain operational. You will learn how to manage budgets and other resources in order to remain efficient and effective.
To complete the Diploma you will study 8 units. Each one is assessed with an assignment of approximately 2500 words. To complete the Award you will study 1 unit and to complete the certificate you will complete 3 units.
It is possible to begin with the Level 3 Award in Principles of Management and Leadership and then progress on to the Certificate or the Diploma at L3.
Once completed you can progress to other qualifications at the same level or progress on to a level 5 management qualification.
